About Us

Casa de Pico, an internationally renowned Mexican restaurant, was originally opened by Diane Powers in 1971 in Old Town, San Diego. In 2005, we relocated to Grossmont Center, where we brought with us the spirit of our original location, with its hacienda-like archways, hand-crafted, wrought iron fixtures and beautiful landscaping reminiscent of Mexico. Casa de Pico’s award-winning cuisine, festive atmosphere, strolling mariachis and world-famous Birdbath Margaritas make it the perfect place to come for a romantic evening getaway or gathering with family and friends.

Your fiesta begins when you walk through the door. Whether dining in our gorgeous dining room filled with vivid colors, hand-painted artwork, classic and authentic folk art, and wrought iron chandeliers or on our heated patio with its giant splashing fountain, tropical plants and colorful flowers, Casa de Pico brings you, in every way, the very best in Mexican culture. Our regional and traditional food, along with our frosty margaritas and strolling mariachis, depict the true spirit of Mexico. Our handmade tortillas are a special treat when you taste them warm off-the-griddle from the charming tortilla kitchen, located in the lobby where our friendly staff is waiting to serve you.

Our staff strives to provide all our guests with the most extraordinary experience possible. We are very grateful for our loyal following, which has helped us earn awards for Best Mexican Restaurant, Best Patio Dining, Best Margarita, Best Guacamole, Top 50 Best Mexican Restaurants and Hot 150 Restaurants.

Casa de Pico’s fun, festive environment makes every special occasion – birthday, rehearsal dinner, wedding anniversary, office mixer, bridal shower, baby shower, graduation, retirement party, team banquet, baptism and communion – a memorable one.

One of San Diego County’s best happy hours takes place Monday-Friday, 3-7 p.m. in our Cantina. It’s the perfect place to enjoy friendly conversation, an appetizer or meal, and one of our world-famous margaritas. We feature specially priced margaritas, beer and house cocktails as well as tasty appetizers. Watch the latest sports game on one of our four TVs.
